Joe Ippolito is a retired attorney and college professor with more than thirty years’ experience in the in-house practice of law and the academic classroom. Joe joined Compliance & Ethics Solutions (now Resiliti) at its inception and has counseled many of our clients on various compliance and ethics matters affecting those companies.
Joe retired from Lucent Technologies at the end of 2001, and fully retired from the practice of law in 2011. When he retired from Lucent, Joe had spent more than 25 years in the law departments of AT&T and Lucent Technologies. He was a Managing Corporate Counsel in the Lucent Law Division, managing the Litigation organization, where he managed litigation and dispute resolution matters involving antitrust, labor and employment, commercial, and class action issues. Prior to his Lucent tenure, he was a General Attorney in the AT&T Law Division managing the Labor & Employment section, where he handled and managed litigation arising from employment-related matters as well as labor arbitration matters. He served as counsel to Company Collective Bargaining committees in 1980, 1983, 1986, 1989, and 1992. He also advised AT&T’s Human Resources organization.
Following his retirement from Lucent, Joe embarked on a second career, joining the faculty of Centenary College in New Jersey. Hired as an Adjunct Professor, Joe taught business law and sports law courses. In 2004, he was named Chair of the Business Department at Centenary College, and taught courses in management, business law, human resources, and sports law. In 2006, he and his wife moved to South Carolina, and Joe was hired as an adjunct member of faculty at Brevard College in western North Carolina. At Brevard College, Joe taught courses in management, business law, critical and practical reasoning, human resources, and criminal justice. During the 2014-2015 academic year, Joe served as a full-time, Assistant Visiting Professor and Coordinator of Brevard College’s Criminal Justice program.
Before joining AT&T in 1967, Joe was an Assistant Prosecutor in Passaic County, New Jersey. He also served in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps of the U.S. Army, where he acted as Chief of Military Justice at Fort Dix, New Jersey.
Joe received his B.A. from St. Michael’s College, before receiving his J.D. degree from Rutgers Law School.
