Kendra Chappell is a senior facilitator and management consultant with more than 25 years of experience helping clients in the public, private, defense, and non-profit sectors strengthen their teams, build knowledge, shift attitudes, solve problems, and develop strategies that are realistic, measurable, and adaptable.


The founder of HiveMinded Consulting, Kendra has facilitated more than 250 meetings and strategy sessions of small teams to more than 150 senior-level participants using proven facilitation tools and techniques to support decision-making, strategy development, process design, program planning, and strengthen employee cohesion and organizational alignment. Her experience in leading and implementing programs and projects – ranging in value from $200,000 to more than $24 million – complements her ability to facilitate the design of innovative and forward-thinking strategies.


Before founding HiveMinded Consulting, Kendra worked at Nexight Group, a small management consulting firm, where she supported clients in producing and adopting best practices improving management and governance practices increasing team effectiveness and developing inspiring strategies. She also developed curricula and trained Nexight staff and clients on project management best practices and facilitation. She led or supported contracts for a variety of clients including the Food and Drug Administration, the Department of Energy, the Department of Homeland Security, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Department of Labor, the National Institute for Hometown Security, the Standards Coordinating Body for Regenerative Medicine, and scientific consortia focused on advanced manufacturing.


Prior to Nexight Group, Kendra managed projects and led teams at PATH, a non-profit organization, where she led a department that developed and implemented advocacy strategies to improve health policy and managed a portfolio for water and sanitation projects to develop products and test marketing and distribution channels. Earlier in her career at Perot Systems Corporation, she managed client relationships, programs, and projects in the healthcare, engineering, and construction management industries after writing speeches and coordinating media, community, and congressional interaction as a Public Affairs Officer in the US Navy.


Kendra graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a BS in English, holds an MS in Psychology with an Industrial Organizational concentration from Kansas State University, and is a certified project management professional.
