Kit Stinson is a senior corporate and executive communications professional with more than 30 years of experience in the global financial services and telecommunications industries. Her areas of specialization are leadership coaching, employee communications and engagement, executive speechwriting and corporate philanthropy.
When she retired from in-house corporate life at the end of 2013, Kit was Vice President, Executive Communications at Avaya, a privately held spinoff of Lucent Technologies. At Avaya, she supported and counseled the CEO and senior leadership team and served as lead communications advisor in a wide variety of corporate lifecycle situations. These included crisis management mergers and acquisitions leadership changes collective bargaining investor relations and Human Resources initiatives including labor and employment programs. In partnership with Avaya’s Law team, she designed and led employee and leadership communications supporting the Company’s first ethics and compliance program.
Before joining Avaya in 2000, Kit worked at Fidelity Investments, where she was the firm’s first full-time senior speechwriter. Earlier in her career, she led public relations, community relations and employee communications functions at several AT&T divisions including Bell Laboratories. She also served as speechwriter for several AT&T CEOs, directors, and other senior executives.
Kit graduated from Brown University with B.A. degrees in English and French. She has published a number of articles on ethics and compliance topics and has ghostwritten several books.
